WHY CODE AND FORMATS MATTER

If you tell XPOS that Gift Cards always start with "97" followed by "1071" and then by ten more digits, then when you scan "971071123456789" it will know you are scanning a Gift Card.

With this in mind, since we can have Loyalty Cards, Discount Cards, Gift Cards and then third-party Azpiral Cards, Retail365 must be set up to correctly recognise barcodes, but equally it's very important that you understand the correct format for Codes for when you are starting to use Loyalty/Discount Cards/Gift Cards or if you are moving over to TouchStore with their existing cards or need to get new ones.

See example below:

Code Formats:

"XXXX" represents your store's specific four-digit identifier, which can be seen when setting up cards.

The "****'s" represents the unique part of the code that identifies the card/account in question.

YY represents the Discount Code for a Discount Card - this tells XPOS what Discount % should be applied.

Loyalty Formats:

Loyalty formats are more complex because they are very flexible, but not infinitely so.

e.g.

101795123489510234 - Prefix

0859236971 - Prefix

251200012345777 - Prefix then Suffix

PB00001234GC - Prefix then Suffix

**N.B. TOUCHSTORE DO NOT PROVIDE THE PLASTIC CARDS; THE PHARMACY MUST SOURCE THEM THEMSELVES. WE CAN PROVIDE A LIST OF BARCODES TO BE PRINTED ON THE CARDS.
