After creating a nursing home, Touchstore recommends to always insert a new dosage system and to initial the "Dosage system name" with the initials of the nursing home. This will prevent setting changes for one home affecting another.
- Search for the Patient you want to set up a Monitored Dosage System for using the patient search or by clicking F2 on your keyboard and open their PMR
- Click F3 to open the Patient Maintenance screen
- Select the Dosage System tab or (Keyboard: ALT + S)
- Select the Monitored Dosage option at the top of the Dosage System
- Double-click to 'Dosage System' dropdown, highlighted below
- Select the Insert button
- Enter a Name for the dosage system. (This should be kept meaningful, so either the packaging type and dispensing period, or a brand name for the blistering service E.G. 'Weekly Cassette LL'
-
Enter the Round Times E.G. Morning, 08:00
- To do this, click the 'Description' heading and select the down arrow on your keyboard to add the first round description & time. Click the down arrow again to add the next round time and so on.
Period
- Daily - Nursing Homes should never be setup on a Daily Dosage System. This would mean the Nursing Home cycle is one day in duration.
- Weekly - This means the Nursing Home cycle is seven days in duration. You prepare your Nursing Home delivery each week.
- Monthly -This means the Nursing Home cycle is 28 days in duration. You prepare your Nursing Home delivery once a month.
File Location
- Only used when connected to a Packaging robot. Only TouchStore uses this option. We currently link to the HDMEDI packaging robot and the Tosho Packaging robot. The file location can be anywhere on the network. If the location doesn't exist, an error message will appear.

Short Course Monthly/Complex Dosage
The default for Short Course is 7 days. If you tick the Short Course Monthly option this will be changed to a full 28 days, this may be desired if the Dosage System is one cycle over one month.
Auto Phase
Turn this setting on if using a monthly 1 cycle, or monthly 4 cycle system. Either way, the allocation will automatically phase each item as it is dispensed, with the exception of separate items. (A separate item is like a bottle of Gaviscon or an inhaler. They cannot be phased.)
Any user setting up a dosage system for a community based tray (blistering) system should have ‘Auto Phase’ turned on, otherwise they lose out on significant fees in the form of the Phased Dispense Fee.
