A not for resale product cannot be sold at the till. You will not be able to add the product to Promotions, Hampers or Special offers. Once a product has been set as a Not For Resale product it cannot be undone.

There are two ways to create this type of product:

1. Type / scan the barcode into the product search field

• Type / scan the barcode into the product search field & press the enter button on your keyboard

• The 'Create a New Product' screen will then be displayed

• You will see at the top of this page, the option for "Not For Resale", select this

• Fill out the product details as you would normally. Retail Price information is removed.

2. Not on File

• Create it using an in-house barcode from the Not On File module

• This will also bring you to the 'Create a New Product' screen

• The selection at the top of the page will default to “Product”, however, it can be changed to Not For Resale.

• Fill out the product details as you normally would. Retail Price information is removed.

Please note:

• When you press Create, you will be shown the following warning confirming that you are creating a Not For Resale product and that the process cannot be undone.

• If you try to sell a not for resale product, the below message will be displayed on your POS screen

Product Information

• The product dashboard does not show information that is not relevant for a Not For Resale product. For example, product performance and product usage will always show N/A and Retail Price, Actual Markup and Actual Margin are always hidden.

• On the General information tab, the retail-related information is hidden for the product. In the top right hand corner we add a label 'Not For Resale' if the product is not for resale. As well as that, we do not include the Alerts, Advice and HO Updates tabs in the sidebar.

• On the Pricing tab, the Retail Price, Special Price and Loyalty Price information are excluded.

• On the Barcodes tab Open Key / PLU Code and Ipu Code are excluded.
