If there is a product or service that you need to sell on your system but it does not have a barcode (or the barcode cannot be recognised by the Retail 365 system) you can create what is called Open Keys. These Open Key products will be shown on the Till when you press the Non-Scan button.

• To create a product like this, create a product as normal - How to Create a Product

• Once your product is created , you will be brought to the Product Maintenance section of your product

• Select the Barcodes option from the side bar

• On this screen, scroll down to the Open Key / PLU Code section:

• In the box provided, type in a descriptive name for this product/service.

  • DO NOT ENTER ANY SPECIAL CHARACTERS. ONLY ENTER A-Z and/or 0-9

• Click + Add

• Your non scan is now created. Select the bin icon to delete it
