How to Dispense under the Methadone Scheme

• Search for your patient using the patient search box or press F2 on your keyboard

• Click New Script (Keyboard: Alt + I)

• Search for the drug you need to dispense

• After selecting the item, enter your PIN, if required

• Enter in your Dispensed and Prescribed Qtys

• You will also need to fill out the Qty Daily and Days fields

  • You must populate these fields before completing an ME script. The system will not allow you to complete the script without these values being entered.

• Next, you can select the Phased option

• Then from the Phased Dispense Screen, set the field Auto Split Phases as required.

• Choose from:

  • 6 Daily (Double on Sat)
  • 7 Daily
  • 7 Daily + Extra Bank Holiday Supply

• Then the Phased Tab will show with the corresponding dates, quantities, whether a label was printed, not dispensed, or supervised dispensing.

• On completion of the script, if you do NOT have the statutory medical council number entered on the system, the following message will be displayed. Click on the link at the top of this article to find out where to add this code

• To complete your script, click Complete (Keyboard: Alt + M )
